15th International Congress on the Archaeology on the Ancient Near East, Tbilisi 4-8 of May, 2027

The Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University and the Georgian National Museum are proud to organize the 15th ICAANE from May 4th to 8th, 2027. We look forward to hosting you in Tbilisi, a city bridging East and West that offers a unique historical and cultural backdrop for meaningful scholarly exchange.

UPDATES

Due to technical delays setting up the University’s online payment system, registration for ICAANE will now open on October 1st, 2026. We apologize for any inconvenience and appreciate your patience as we finalize the portal.

As a result, all submission and registration deadlines have been extended:

  • Workshop Proposals, Paper, and Poster Abstracts: Submissions are open until October 20th, 2026.
  • Acceptance Notifications: Preliminarily accepted papers, posters, and workshops will be communicated as they are evaluated, and at the latest by November 30th, 2026.
  • All contributing paper and poster presenters should register before December 15th, 2026 to secure their confirmed status. Workshop participants must register before December 31st, 2026. Workshop organizers are kindly asked to inform their panel participants of this requirement.

Post-Conference Excursions

To help participants experience the rich heritage of the region, we are organizing a series of post-conference excursions to major archaeological and cultural sites. Most excursions are single-day trips returning to Tbilisi in the evening, with the exception of one overnight excursion to the Kakheti wine region.

These excursions are optional and not included in the standard registration fee. We are organizing group bus transportation (and overnight accommodations where applicable) to keep costs reasonable. Pricing will be announced on the conference website once final arrangements are confirmed.
